Partner Spotlight: First Step Staffing

Job placement, job security, and responsibility are three things Calvin has gained since first coming to First Step. After being homeless and barely able to provide for himself, working for a same-day pay employer, he found a shelter and eventually found his way to First Step’s office at the Christian Service Center in Parramore.

Now working for the City of Orlando, he wakes up every morning with peace of mind, knowing he has a guaranteed 40 hours of work per week, along with a weekly check. He’s paying off past debt and continues working to become more self-sufficient.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer rides along with Calvin, employed by First Step Staffing as a maintenance worker for the City Public Works team.
